Get Your Kitchen Stocked

I’m not sure about other people out there, but I’ve always viewed my kitchen as a sacred space. My kitchen is where my taste buds and stomach feel most at home, and it’s where I feel quite confident in what I’m doing, how I want it done, and how long it takes. Unfortunately for now, my partner and I are relegated to a tiny apartment kitchen. So whenever we make the move to a different apartment or even buying a house, you can guarantee that we’ll be making certain the kitchen area is amazing and spacious.

For us and a lot of people, the kitchen is a place where a lot of magic happens. You create things in the kitchen. You destroy things in the kitchen by consuming them. You could say it’s the place that your senses are used the most with all of the smells, tastes, touches, sights, and sounds that abound. But the thing is that a lot of people don’t treat it like the wonderful part of their house it is. The place where all of your food options exist, from candy boxes and canned vegetables to raw produce and condiments, is one to keep well stocked on groceries and cooking ingredients. (Okay, candy boxes are probably something that should be kept in a cupboard elsewhere.) But it’s also where all of your tools to do your cooking are. That means keeping your kitchen stocked with the utensils and paraphernalia needed is just as important as the food and spices!

Now, while you may be aware that you need dishes to eat on (we’re sure hoping you knew this), there are a lot of tools that you’re missing out on in your kitchen.

A food processor

Whether you’re blending smoothies, making salsa, powdering nuts, or using it for things outside of traditional food recipes, owning a food processor makes an immense difference in the things you can and cannot make. Too often we’ve come across a recipe that calls for a food processor, yet we didn’t have one and our end meal suffered because of it. Get yourself one before any other kitchen appliance or item.

Steamer

I couldn’t believe the difference in the quality of my vegetables moving from a traditional pot of boiling water to steaming. Everything was so much tastier, fresher, and more tender for whatever reason. Having a nice big pot with a steamer basket is almost essential in every household out there.
